Application procedure
1) Complete the Student Information Form (download as editable .pdf or .docx) and send it to master@lumina.edu.hk or the address indicated on the form.
2) After we have reviewed your form, we will ask you to submit the following application materials:

a hard copy of your Hong Kong Identity Card/passport

hard copies of your undergraduate transcript(s) and/or certificate(s)
-
a non-refundable application fee of HK$200/US$25 to "Lumina College Limited" (methods of payment are listed below)
Mail your application materials to: Academic Head, Lumina College, 3/F, Breakthrough Centre, 191 Woosung Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
3) You will then receive instructions to apply for entry to the MA program via the university's online system.
4) As the final part of the application, you will be asked to submit recommendation letters, a personal essay, and/or proof of English proficiency, depending on the MA program.
5) You must complete the application and supply all required information and documents by the deadline (June 1, 2022).

Make a crossed cheque payable to "Lumina College Limited" and mail to: 3/F, Breakthrough Centre, 191 Woosung Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The cheque can be in HK or US dollars.

Deposit or transfer money to the HSBC bank account of Lumina College Limited, and email the deposit slip or money transfer notice to: college@lumina.edu.hk
Scholarships
Merit-based and need-based scholarships are available for our master's programs. Please email master@lumina.edu.hk for more information.
Loan Scheme
Students in these masters programs are eligible to apply for the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme under the Student Finance Office of the HKSAR Government.
Study part-time
Study in Hong Kong for 2–3 years and earn a master's degree from a top U.S. university.
Our courses are taught in a hybrid style that is both conducive to learning in community and accessible for part-time learners.

FAQ
Who are the programs for?
Our master's programs are for adult learners of all kinds, including fresh graduates or those who are already in the middle of their career. The programs are especially beneficial for Christians who may not be working in the traditional church or missionary setting but are nonetheless serving in other spheres of life.
When is the deadline to apply?
The deadline is June 1 each year. However, you can take advantage of the early bird special and apply on or before April 1 to have your application fee waived.
What is the cohort model?
Throughout the 2–3 years of a program, students will study together with the same group (the cohort), going through the same courses together in the same sequence. This has the benefit of building a strong sense of community within the learning cohort.
What does hybrid learning mean?
Our model of hybrid learning combines face-to-face instruction with online learning. Each course in the program begins with several classes of face-to-face instruction and is supplemented by online learning, which offers greater flexibility on your time. Online learning involves learning through a multimedia platform, discussions with peers and faculty, peer reviews of papers and assignments, and more.
What is the difference between getting this master's degree in Hong Kong compared to studying in the U.S. and getting the degree there?
There is no difference in terms of the master's degree obtained, as the Hong Kong degree program is recognized as identical by both the U.S. degree-granting university and the Hong Kong government. The added benefits of studying in Hong Kong include 1) saving on the expenses and energy of traveling to the U.S. to study, and 2) learning and applying knowledge from the courses into the local Hong Kong and Asian contexts, as the programs are taught by both local and overseas faculty.
Are the master's programs recognized by the Hong Kong government and/or by employers in Hong Kong?
All of the master's programs are registered with the Hong Kong Education Bureau and their respective registration numbers are shown on the program brochures. From the perspective of the Hong Kong government and/or employers in Hong Kong, the degree is the same as one earned from studying the same program in the U.S.
In addition, each of the universities we have partnered with is accredited through various accreditation bodies in the United States: Asbury University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Cairn University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and both Calvin University and Wheaton College are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
If I have a seminary but not a bachelor's degree, can I apply to the program?
A U.S. bachelor's or equivalent degree is required. If you do not have a bachelor's degree, we encourage you to take one of our diploma or certificate programs.
